Please can someone point me towards a beginners guide to wiring up simple enclosures.

I have built a small recirculating water system which consists of a pump, heater, flow switch, thermocouple and temperature controller. I would like to build the control box that will operate the system. Functions of the control box are as follows:

- Key switch for master on/off
- Pump on/off switch and light
- Heater on/off switch and light, coupled which flow switch to prevent element burnout in event of pump failure
- Eurotherm temperature controller to control heater power (via solid state relay) based on temperature setpoint monitors by K type thermocouple probe.
- Low flow alert light
- E-stop and reset button

I recognise that I am a beginner and will be having my work inspected by a qualified electrician, howevever I am very keen to learn electrical skills for future projects.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I could be wrong, but you need to be aware that any non standard electrical enclosure will need to be subjected to rigorous testing and certification, by who and what organisation will be responsible I don't know, someone with more experience in this subject will be along later to advise, I'm sure.

At the very least you will need to do a risk assessment for the safety circuitry and then build in accordance with BS EN 60204-1.
