We have had a boiler removed from the bathroom and relocated. A whirlpool bath is now installed and there is a switched fused spur available (5 amp) which was used for old boiler.

I believe this is RCD protected as it goes back to the consumer board labelled "immersion heater" - is it ok to use this spur as this what the plumber has suggested?

I understand that this spur can be installed under tub as long as the bath panel can ONLY be removed with special tools/equipment i.e. so essentially it becomes an outside zone.

Is this possible? of course we will get a waterproof spur which cost approx £15 to be on the safe side.

Do we need a pull cord switch as we can not be removing the panel each time we need to isolate?

what i did when i installed mine was to fit the FCU in the airing cupboard and flex to the motor from there.

i wouldn't trust a wetpants to fit a plug ( that's the one in the bath, not an electrical plug)
