Ordered new emergency lights in, but for some reason when wired up, the led light flashes for a second, then the led charge indicator lights for a second and it keeps going on like that, but then I have wired it up to a plug, but when i turn the plug on, it turns on for a second, trips the switch, then the light stays on for a further couple of seconds then off.

Hi I guess the connection in those push fit is not quite as snugly in as it should be. The neutral has a spider leg sticking out. Just a stab in the dark but looks like they are not pushed in properly. Maybe some arcing going on? What size is the cable going in there?

What manufacture is it? Fitted endless amount of em bulkheads (mainly LED) and surprising how many are actually faulty out the box. Usually to do with the maintained side failing.

Usually keep 4/5 on the van so not a major issue for me but I can see it being annoying if you don't have a spare guts to just swap out.

When you say it trips the switch and the light stays on I'm assuming it's gone into battery back up (slightly dimmer) and due to the fitting only being energized for a couple of seconds, the battery has had little chance to charge so the light goes off completely?
