Hi guys, hoping for a bit on clarification and advice.
Been asked to carry out eml testing over various office sites including plant rooms etc. age of installations varying from 5 - 20 year checking the info available on BS5266 2011 am I right in thinking that as a part of our test we now need to provide the client with advice on how to bring the installation up to current version of bs5266 whereas before we simply listed defects classified on the forms? Isnt this basically redesigning the whole eml system? Does anyone have a model they go by?

I would state on the report form:
Installation does not comply with BS5266....
Offer either to, get a survey carried out by a qualified lighting engineer, which you will charge for, if you don't get the job
or get him to get a consultant in to carry out the survey.
You don't have to charge him for the survey, but it protects you in case he gives your proposals to someone else.
If you are a CEF customer, your local Tamlite engineer will carry out the survey FOC.
If your customer has drawings, send them to CEF to forward to Tamlite Fire Technical department and they will carry out an FOC. design.
