Hi there. I'm working in a large office block and I'm replacing some emergency modular fittings. There are a couple of grey wires that look like cat5 but only 2core black and red and they are connected into a positive and negative connection on the light fitting. Does anyone know what this is for and should it have a voltage going through it? Any advice would be great. Cheers!

If the beldon cable is loop in and out of each fitting, then the em lights are being controlled by a central em lighting controller. you will possible find it next to the fire control panel, main make is Advanced Lite.

Thanks for reply. Should there be a voltage going through the beldon wire? Cheers

if it is a controller usually 24v, but need more info on where the cable are going from the fittings, and what type of fitting are they..?
