Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could help me out with this. How would you go about operating normal lights with a maintained fitting ? eg, one maintained bulkhead and 4 Downlight's. A key switch with a separate 1 gang light switch next to it. The light switch to operate the bulkhead and the normal lights and the key switch to test the battery on the EM, but not cut power to the other lights. I understand how the switch would work with just the EM fitting but not how to combine the both.
Thank You

You will need a three core from the light switch/test facility. Take the incoming line conductor to the Com of the general switch with a link across to the Com of the test facility. With the three core (one core being neutral) the general lighting circuit goes to L1 of the general switch and connects to the downlights and the em light, the other core is the permanent charge feed to the em light and connects to L1 of the test facility.
The em light will have two live terminals, one for the general lighting at material times (when the downlights are on) and one for the permanent charge supply (from the test facility).

So is this what you mean ? Would this also work as a 2 Way still ?
Thanks for your response.

Your drawing is difficult to decipher but yes it can be two way all you need is two way switches, the test facility would be nothing to do with this.
