Hi,

i am looking for information on how is the best way to wire a contactor & emergency stop button, that will provide emergency switching for a distribution board. the maximum load of this board would be 63A.

Is this for last man out hits the switch?

yes to be used as you said or for emergency switching protecting against mechanical accidents that would not result in electrical fault - i.e someone using a drill and their glove got caught in it. the distribution board is part of a temporary site installation while work is being carried out. i just thought it would be a nice idea to make the site a little safer.

sparks,
Be careful here, you are making presumptions with regard to statutory legislation.
IF you are going to implement such formal safety features then they MUST comply with the statute law relating to them.
7671 is a puppy in comparison.

well all work is done to 7671 goes without saying. how bigger influence would the statutory legislation have seeing as the equipment is temporary?

Always install temporary stuff as permanent! :rolleyes4:

So many times have I installed equipment in this manner that ends up being taking root!!!
