We are currently looking a Switching in our 2330 L3, can someone please advise me as to whether an Emergency Switch is an on or off load switch?

As it is a normally closed contact and carries current I thought it was an on load switch because it is required to cut off the full load current, but a colleague feels its an off load devise.

Thanks

on load. as in an emergency, you would need to break the supply under load.

Agreed ya only use the emergency switch to open the cct with emergency lights to test they are working properly......
Non maintained the emergency light comes on when emergency switch operated.
Maintained lighting the lights is on and says on even after emergency switch is operated for as long as the battery has charge...
Hope helps you....

Pretty pointless having an ''off load'' rated switch, as an emergency switch wouldn't it?? All down to commonsense when you think about it!! lol!!!

think you've got your wires crossed here mate. OP is referring to an emergency switch, as in switching off machinery if some poor sod's got his goolies trapped.
