Engineering Maintenance NVQ/SVQ Level 2 & 3

I'm looking for some guidance if anyone knows about the above mentioned qualification. I currently work in Lighting Maintenance with no electrical qualifications and I'm looking to gain fully qualified electrician status in Scotland. In trying to do so i looked into distant learning courses, training centres etc to gain the right qualifications. On reading the threads in the forum it seems that the fast track courses are all about cramming lots of info in short time scales which might be ok as i have some electrical knowledge but would rather do it in a more appropriate time frame. I have rang about all various training centres near to me and have arranged to go into them and chat about some options available but i spoke to a centre yesterday who more or less offered me an Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship after giving them a bit of background to my circumstances and that my employer was happy to release me one day a week. Has anyone done or know if this a route that would see me fully qualified at the end of it.

hi mate As long as you do the appropriate traing there is no reason why you should not become fully qualified at the end of your apprenticeship, however i am not familary with or if the scotish education system is different then englands.
