My indesit ifw6340 oven packed up recently. Was working fine, turned it on and it never heated up. Tried it again the next day and and it gave me an error code F53. Turned off from mains, no error code, but still not getting to temp. Grill and fan both work fine.

I cannot find F53 error anywhere on Web.

How about contacting Indesit? The manual for the oven states if you get a Fxx code on the display you should contact their after sales service.

So I contacted Indesit (now whirlpool /hotpoint) and they have no information on that error code and just tried steering me towards a legal and general care plan. If anyone else has info on this error, it would be greatly appreciated

You might have come across this?

Do you have experience of repairing domestic appliances, competence with electrics, and a multimeter?
If so, the next obvious step is to check the oven element for correct resistance. Also the temp sensor which I believe is a ntc resistor.

If it's not something obvious, I fear it may get expensive. The user manual mentions an 'F' code is a "software fault". More likely the software unable to deal with whatever hardware fault has occurred. I'm not convinced that even if you find what the code is supposed to mean, that it would necessarily guide you to what needs replacing.

I see a replacement main PCB from eSpares is about £100, and the display/timer module is £50, so swapping out parts without knowing for sure what's wrong is probably not the way to go.
