I am sitting the City and Guilds 2392-102 (Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification) practical exam soon. I would value some advice on what to expect e.g. is it a straight forward testing of knowledge and application of Guidance Note 3 and the 17th Edition? or are faults included to test the student?

hi amberleaf,
what does this course cover then if faults arent included?? surely you need to recognise when a reading is wrong even if it is on a new install

Don't think it covers fault diagnosis as you would be carrying out the inital verification and testing of a brand new installation done by yourself.

I beleive that the test rigs used in the practical exams are 'fault free' and you are just expected to go through the sequence correctly.

hi ct13,
seems strange to me. you get faults and high readings even with new installs. if you arent taught how to fault find do you just record the reading on your meter  i hold 2391 by the way so the question isnt asking for advice about doing the course, just what is and isnt covered on it ;)
