Hi there,

We will need to earth a Faraday cage room in an experimental work, do we need to certify the job?
Can it be only earthed into the plumbing pipes if available (Bonding?)?
If there are no pipes around should we earth it into a mains circuit using a junction box or surface box for example?

Regards,
E.Alen

I think we could do with some more details.

if this is to be used with a vandagraph generator or any other high voltage equipment then you will need to be very careful about bonding and electrical noise.

a plumbing pipe could be bad news, if the pipe is fed by a plastic supply pipe and not bonded itself, you could introduce voltages or electrical noise into the pipe system and anything attached to it.

Is this a screened room designed for RF testing? Are there EMI finger strips on the door surrounds, etc?

Thank you for the quick replies guys!

Yes it is a screened room with strips. No EMF emitters allowed inside, it is an isolating room with network wired computers. No heavy machines or motors, nothing that produces considerable EMF like mobiles, microwaves or anything wireless will be allowed inside.
What would be the best way to go on this case? Thx

So it's to stop RF interference getting in and interfering with any testing? What sort of product is being tested?

Is this screened room classed as an Earth free environment?

you mean like the planet Mars or Klingon?
Was thinking more along the line of "Unimatrix one" sort of limbo between being a Borg Drone and whatever you were before you were assimilated into the Collective and had bits of BG garbage stuck all over you're kisser, live long.
