My wife wants me to add an outlet in a large closet. It would be easy to feed the outlet from a bathroom outlet that is on the other side of the wall. However, I've read that the US electrical code does not allow connecting outlets in other rooms to a circuit that feeds bathroom outlets. Why? I don't see a safety issue. Is just to prevent blowing the breaker from excessive load? Thanks!

My friend go ahead and add a receptacle which is not going to hurt nothing and if it gets it’s power from the bathroom it is even going to be GFCI protected.
