Hi guys. Just wondering, if you do a board change and client dont want spd or afdd would this need nothing on departures on cert? Looking at doing a board change for someone and use for assesment and as I have been off with hernia trying to get up to speed with things. Cheers

Is there a requirement for AFDDs on the installation?

Have you conducted a risk assessment regarding SPDs?

As above, are these required? If not then it's not something which doesn't meet BS7671.

Also, for it to be a departure it would have to afford equivalent safety. I'm not clear how simply omitting something could provide that.

Hi guys, it is a single dwelling house so I have offered spd but the client said no. So in my eyes it is not needed as the loss is low and it is a single dwelling. As for afdd I mentioned it and the associated cost and he flately refused. As they are only recommendations I was going to omit them and mention os risk assesment. but just wondering if they should be mentioned on the cert.

I know that manufacturers have to sell their products but they are making it look like you have to have this and we are getting a few posts on this stick to what the regs say.
