Hi all please help.

If you was to use galv conduit all the way from the board to the isolator next to the fire alarm panel. does the cable still need to be something like a fp200 or is normal singles ok to use ??

can see the scenario. in a fire, the galv. conduit will get well hot, melt the insulation on the singles. dead short to conduit. OCPD trips. no power to alarm.

Off the top of my head the cable has to be capable of taking 850c for 30 minutes before failing, don't think singles in galv would last that long.

It's common for galvanised conduit to be used for the drops in fire alarm installations. This is for impact protection though and FP200 is still used. 25mm is needed as two FP cables dropping are quite thick.

Try Syrup of figs Mate works very well, so sorry I couldn't resist.
