I am doing my first p.v install in january which is a 2kw system with panels mounted on a flat roof.

Would like to know if anyone has any suggestions of which brand panels and invertor to use...i know of suunyboy and sma invertors but done the course a few years ago and a lot has changed.

Also best frame, have been looking at the bucket type you fill with ballast, they look nice and simple.....but again
i have no experience.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated

get a structural survey done on the flat roof before even thinking about adding a ballasted system to it.

Also check the permitted development regulations assuming it's domestic, as it can't stick up more than 200mm which tends to rule most systems out from domestic flat roofs, unless you get planning permission for it.

couple of starting points for you

Planning issue, as someone stated, it can't be above the parpit of the roof. That is the customers first line of call.
