Hi All...
Obviously new to site... Very interesting and informative ..

Quick question...
I'm installing a new garage unit and was wondering whether its advisable to 'piggy back' off the existing or would new meter tails need to be installed using a 'Henley block'... If piggy back then can I use 10mm T&E?
Thanks for your help and sorry to sound stupid....

How far is the cable run from the meter to the new CU?

Hi All...

Wow... A bit surprised and overly grateful for all the responses and Im glad I have such experienced persons to call upon.
Thanks again ...
I'm totally new to the forums so excuse me if things go awry ;)

OK here goes chaps....

The garage unit will sit some 2 meters away from the main CU.
The loading will be as follows:
1. 13A outdoor socket for lawnmower, pressure washer, the odd power tool.
2. 13A Indoor socket for charging cordless tools (4 different chargers!)
3. LED PIR spotlight
4. Internal LED baton
The max cable length to furthest point from GU will be 3 meters.
The rest of the cabling is within a 2sq meter area.
The DNO feed is TNS and there is a smart meter installed.

That's about it really.
There is a 40A breaker in the main CU which was feeding the power shower, however this has been removed, so in essence I'll be using that if I can.

Hope this helps and any solutions would be much appreciated.
I also hope that you chaps can make room for another Buzz! ;)
