I would like to have fitted on the wall above my existing cooker a single compact electric oven. The existing cooker (hob & oven) is electric & non-induction.

Under UK law would this be allowed? and, if so, what is the minium space allowed between the top of the existing cooker & the bottom of the oven that I am planning to have fitted?

Hope someone has an answer! Many thanks.

it's a bad design. suggest fitting oven in a different location.

Thanks for your reply - but when u say 'it's a bad design', do you mean it's a bad idea? I know it seems crazy but I do want to fit the oven in that position.

i suppose that if it'shigh enough above the hob so as not to be influenced by the heat from the hob.it's unconventional, but can't see it contravening any regulations.

Hi - need to consider manufacturer's instructions, so I'd email their Customer Services and see what they say. In the Building Regulations guides there are recommended minimum heights above hobs for extractor fan hoods. From memory it's 700mm. Then there's the existing cooker electric supply cable - it could be coming down in the wall there, just saying :) .
