Fixed wired testing in situ

I have got some heaters etc to do and after reading my PAT420 manual it can test fixed wire equipment in situ.
It will do continuity test @200mA and touch leakage. Would this be OK or do I need to connect it to my tester?

I have read a lot but I would like some opinions from people that have been testing for awhile as I have just started with house & office testing.

How do you normally conduct a class 1 fixed appliance test? I'd be looking at 25A EB and 500V IR (assuming safe to do so) and a run test to ensure element load is normal.

To do an IR test it will need physical connection.

The op asked whether he would need to connect to the tester and to carry out all tests, yes you do.

Hi and thanks for the input.

I can isolate and test but I thought I would ask the question as I wasn't to sure if I had to as this will be the first time I have done a fixed item.
