Discuss Fixing light with mini trunking containment? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi all,

A friend of mine has built a conservatory and has used surface mini trunking to contain the t&e for the lights, as the pvc blends in with the pvc panels of the conservatory.

I'm due to connect up the lights and wanted to know the best way and be prepared before u arrive.

I haven't seen the lights yet but im assuming they will be some sort of chrome fitting.

If so, then the mini trunking would end up butting up against the chrome base with no cable entry.

Is there some soft of box you can fix to the ceiling for the trunking to go into and then the light fix to the box? Maybe a bit like a pvc trunking box without the conduit entries.

Thanks

Yes, you can get a round backbox the same diameter as a besa box and the same depth as mmt2 which is used for running mini trunking in to pendants etc.

To be honest the best place to ask this sort of question is at your wholesalers, they'll know what products they have on the shelf.

those ceiling rose adaptors work well with ceiling roses, batten holders or pendant fittings.
if there will be something else, especially the rubbish b&q lights then is not nice or easy.
