Hi all,

Would somebody draw a diagram of how they believe a Fused Digital Timer Spur switch should be installed.

A bit of information;

There are 6 floor standing outdoor LEDs.
1.5mm SWA feeding each and routed back to the consumer unit. Shall be protected by a 6amp Wylex RCBO.

Thanks in advance.

Line and neutral to the timer spur, line and neutral out to the light fittings assuming the timer is adequate for the intended load. This is rudimentary knowledge for an electrician.

Thanks.

similiar to this?

Granted it's a shocking photo!
I've got an electrician coming to fit on Wednesday, but it's a sad state of affairs when you know nothing about the work a man is doing on your own property.

That looks about right
Is your swa 2 core?

I've bought 3 core.

I've also bought a junction box so the 1.5mm can be terminated into that.

I would imagine he'll go with;

1.5mm flex into digital timer.
1.5mm flex from digital timer to junction box, connecting to the 3 core SWA feeding the outdoor lights?

Sound good?

Sounds ok
The armour of the swa will need to be continuously connected to earth throughout the whole run..
So your junction boxes will need to be suitable for that purpose..

Your profile states you are a domestic installer. Is this a job you are carrying out.

Not sure what's happened there. Came close to moving to that line of work, but I'm a carpenter by trade still.
How come ? May be interested if you have a well paid apprenticeship going!

Any thoughts regarding the messages specifically about the install ?

Great point, hadn't thought about that.
May have to dig up more of the bloody grass!
Any advice on gel or other forms of complete waterproofing?

Thanks alot!
