My oven has a switch above it, I think this is called an isolator switch, but my dishwasher and washing machine have a fused switch. My question is why wouldn't you put a fused switch above the oven also? wouldn't this make accessing and replacing the fuse easier? Installation was done at the same time by same company.

They are (or should be) on different circuits.

You oven should be on a radial circuit, typically 32A 6mm cable. Your dishwasher & washing machine most typically will be on a 32A ring final circuit, 2.5mm cable.

The flexes to the dishwasher & washing machine, would not be able to carry 32A safely under fault conditions, so that’s where there’s a smaller amp size fuse in the fused spur, to protect them. Same as you have in plug.

The cooker should have a suitable sized cable between appliance and isolator, so does not require any other fuses, other than the one in your fuse board. The fuses in the fuse board, is to protect the fixed wiring, not the appliances.

Edit, the cable to the oven from the isolator, would of been suitably sized, for the oven max load.
