Good evening and hope all is well. Ive been looking into a garden lighting job. Customer wants four channels of lights, different colours/dimmable ect ect so was thinking a wise box would be ideal. Im not sure if to have the lights at 12/24v obviously with a transformer at each channel, or 230v. Wiring would likely be in swa in either case. So anyone prefer 230v over 12/24v for garden lighting ? Or vice-versa? Bear in mind that customer wants the coloured lamps dimmable and also wants a good amount of lumens !

BTW I passed the AM2 the other week on first sitting, NVQ now complete :)

What products are you thinking of using. I’ve just done a garden lighting install. I used mainly Philips Hue, with a couple of Collingwood luminaries.

Wouldn’t of necessarily used Hue in the first place (won’t bore you with the story), but the results are ok.

Taken low voltage to various points, via swa. The it’s extra low to invidual luminaries. Don’t think I would like 240v in amongst the flower beds, even if I knew it was there. I know some might say, put the flex in some kopex etc, but all these manufacturered IP65 etc lights come sealed tails.
