I came across this forum via Google and thought I'd join up!
I'm Simon and I'm currently part way through my Level 2 of the C&G 2330 course (I'm afraid it's with OLCI though, which I understand don't have a good reputation on this forum!, but I'm almost 28 and I haven't been able to find another route suitable - all the colleges focus on younger ages.)
So far I've done the Basic and Unit 1 practicals and the 201 and 202 (I guess) exams which thankfully I got distinctions on both for.
I live in West Sussex so will be looking for a job in Sparky Land whilst I train, I think. (I hope)
I've worked with a Horticultural Electrician on lots of jobs before, installing armoured and low voltage cable, building control panels with contactors to control motors, installing lighting mounted on Uni-Strut in places like Kew Gardens and a government controlled canabis research centre(!!!). I've also helped (before Part P became enforced) 1st Fix a house's Ring Final Circuit(s) and the lighting with Twin & CPC cable.
I love it! It's so practical and I love practical work. I wish I'd not gone to university but instead realised this would be a better goal for me. Ah well, Hind Sight eh!
