Discuss Good Morning Thread - Come say good morning, tell us what you've got on today. :) in the The Exchange area at ElectriciansForums.net

We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Posts and likes get counted towards your total stats in this thread.

So GOOOD MORNING PEOPLE - WEATHER IS NICE TODAY IN STOKE. I'M THANKFUL IT'S FRIDAY, HAD A RUBBISH WEEK. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

Writing up all the eicrs that we have been doing - we are booked out with EICR's till after christmas! test during the week and write them up at weekends.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to today or not. We were told around a month ago that our section of the company was being sold off. We were told about 2 weeks ago who was buying us. We have a 'teams' meeting today with the new owners. We transfer over on Jan 1st and have been told everything will remain the same including pay, van's, length of service etc. Let's see what the new owners have to say ?

Hope all goes well for you.

Looks like a reasonably quiet day today. Do an online site induction, get 2 tyres put on the car as the wife is complaining then a little drive from south Wales to near Edinburgh ready for tomorrow's job.
BTW, the online meeting with our new owners on Monday didn't seem too bad. I'm not sure if we are supposed to announce who the new owners are but it looks like we'll have the 'Freedom' to carry on as we are for a while.

I've never known a woman take any interest/notice of tyres! Pass on my admiration. Actually, it might come across as being a bit sexist that?

Nice little road-trip there! South Wales to Edinburgh, some beautiful scenery...
On-line Memorial Service with some friends just before 11am, then some minor tool-shopping and after that a good brisk walk round the local reservoirs.
My daughter checks tyres regularly, but her dashboard looks like a christmas tree!

We don’t want your welsh virus anywhere near Edinburgh! Get back to the valleys!

I’m joking @Moley .... I’m going on a little road trip myself. Kids have a couple days off school, so I’m downing tools, and heading up to Aviemore til Sunday.

Don't worry, I won't be at Edinburgh. I'm at Dunbar so you should be safe ?

My sat navs says about 9.30 tonight so looks like you are safe

Littlespark, it's safe to go home now, I've left. Why would you have ' no taffy tourists'? I'm not a tourist I'm just doing a job that you Scott's can't do ;-)
BTW, do you think they could put a few more speed cameras on the A1?

It's not quite that bad on the A1. It seemed to be one every 3 miles once you get north of the border.

Just come to say good day all not been on in a while RL gets in the way. :-(
Had a great but busy day wiring a barn with 1 LED security light, installing and wiring two 8 foot LED 2 bulb strip lights, one GFCI receptacle with bubble cover outside and 2 receptacles on the inside with 1 switch for the lights and 1 switch for a ceiling fan which I’m saving it for last because I hate messing with ceiling fans. Busy day and going back tomorrow hopefully to finish up. I only work from 8:00 am till 1 pm. That’s the great thing about working for yourself, you get to pick your own hours. Everyone have a great weekend ??

I forgot to say I’m running a 30 amp 120 vac service with # 10 wire on a 30 amp GFCI breaker from the main panel

A wee job fitting some lights in a newish house. Customer has bought the fittings...he sent me some pictures, and of course there are no labels on any of them. The pendant shades are metal, and the supplied cable looks odd...
Never mind, I'm sure it will go well!
On a different point, there is a current thread about back boxes within 300mm of a hob, to which I can't contribute. I agree with the responses from those who say not to bury electrical connections behind a blank faceplate and tile over, however since another question was raised about faceplates that fit inside a back box, I can confirm that such things DO exist, and if you wanted to tile over, say, an empty back box, the solution is out there.
Thus, another task today is for me to prove this by taking a picture, if anyone really cares!
