Discuss Good Morning Thread - Come say good morning, tell us what you've got on today. :) in the The Exchange area at ElectriciansForums.net

We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Re-terminating some dodgy earths on my Armstrong. They've looked ropey for ages, and when I starting loosening the bolt, one of the wires fell straight out of the ring terminal.

All done now:

do you think they could put a few more speed cameras on the A1?
What speed cameras? They’re just empty boxes up on poles.

Up the A9, HGVs have to do 50mph.... which means EVERYONE has to do 50... in between the scarce dual carriageway bits.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to the best country in the world, @Moley

a wire brush and a bit of paint might come in useful also.

The first one heading north after the border works. I saw someone getting flashed as I headed home on Friday. Haven't been up the A9 for years. It used to be an annual trip up to Ullapool for me. I even got married there MANY years ago. Only trips I get to Scotland now are for work, up to Fife for Markinch, Dunbar for the Viridor plant or Irvine for Hunterston and it looks like that one won't be happening again :-(
Scottish haggis is far nicer that the stuff you can buy in supermarkets around here and nowhere around here does Balmoral Chicken :-(

Good job you weren’t up the A1 today, @Moley

Glad I missed out on that. That's the problem with long stretches of single road. People get impatient and try and pass when they shouldn't. I tried a bit of overtaking today but failed. I was coming up on the inside but got cut off on a left hander. It was on a race track with three vans going around. We had to stop part way to pull off into the solar farm in the center of the circuit that we were working at but it was fun while it lasted.

Morning,

It was snow covered and icy here. Planning today, working out the best method to install multiple 45A showers in a property - regarding consumer units.

Take it steady on these bad roads and pavements.

Good morning all, well today I decided to put my test gear up for sale as I retired a couple of years ago. Tough decision as they are a part of who I am. Dont really need the money or the space but I remember when I started out I had nothing. Could donate but the recipients probably would look after the tools as they came by them too easily. Firm beliver in looking after my tools as they will look after you, old school. Got a bottle of wine to hand once they go. All you guys will hit this point at some time. Just a quick on for those electrical businesses out there that turn older electricians down for work, they probably have more experience than you will ever have. Ok they may be a but slower but they went through a proper apprenticeship when if you got it wrong you got a clip around the ear. Funny it really makes you do things right. Anyway thats my day....
