We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Posts and likes get counted towards your total stats in this thread.

So GOOOD MORNING PEOPLE - WEATHER IS NICE TODAY IN STOKE. I'M THANKFUL IT'S FRIDAY, HAD A RUBBISH WEEK. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

It IS a caravan hook up??!?
Bleeding hell. How do you tow a van up over there? Or you standing next to a dual carriageway just out of shot?

Simple, use a landrover.

But not mine, its currently doing great work as a garden ornament. I'll get it fixed eventually though, I only took it off the road for a month or two to do some work on it.......... 2 years ago!

Every hook up had a twig (rod) next to it doing absolutely nothing. last sparky said to customer that he’d converted the site to TT but it was still on TNS with those added twigs ????????

Today I am waiting in for a BG engineer.
“sometime between 8 and 1”
Boiler deciding not to heat up for water.... sometimes, even if the heatings already been on. Always happens when the wife wants a shower.... therefor I get the earache.

I feel your pain, that’s the worst sort of earache ever.
Can only be paused by a trip to the pub, comes back when you get home but at least the senses have been dulled a little.

Today is fixing an extractor fan in a bathroom. had a quick look last night. It is supposed to come on with the light switch, and run on afterwards, so nothing new there. However, it sometimes stalls, then screeches, then runs normally, then stops.
It's a Manrose, judging by the front grille, but I couldn't get the grille off as it appears to be glued in. Returning today to investigate further. It's probably just worn out, worn bearing, whatever, and customer just wants straight replacement, no disruption etc. No isolator, naturally...
I'm not a "fan" of these extractors. Supposed to extract 85 cubic metres/hour, but frankly does nothing to clear the room. I don't know how you guys and gals test them for efficiency, but i just hold a single sheet of loo roll to the grille and see if it sticks! This one doesn't.
Tried to suggest options, centrifugal/inline etc but that would mean disruption, so is not a possibility.

Later, it's rewiring the exposed cables on a lathe. The existing cables are in a connector block screwed to the outside casing. The cables are far too long, in that about 6" of the incoming power cable has its sheath stripped off, and the connector block is exposed. I am thinking about fitting an adaptable box and relocating the connections inside there.

Not exactly exciting stuff...

I’ve never had an issues with that size fan for a ‘normal’ bathroom etc, and ‘average’ shower etc etc.

Either the ducting is poorly installed, blocked or not enough ventilation under door (if shut during use).

Had a job yesterday for a fella that had tried 4 new fans and none of em worked, all faulty apparently.....I turned up looked at the fan...240v.....pointed at the 12v transformer on the ceiling.....his face was a picture! ??
poor salesmanship. you couls have sold him a sep-up transformer... £££££££.

Well this was us today. Starting to rip out for a rewire of commercial premises.
