It's not very often I praise a company but for once I will!
Almost a year ago I bought a 2nd hand Fluke 6500-2 from ebay. It was in almost unused condition complete with leads, barcode scanner, software etc. It arrived, I chucked it in the corner and I immediately forgot all about it. I was having a sort out this week and found it so thought I would have a play. This is when I found the previous owner had changed the access code. Not really a problem as it just stops access to some of the setup section. Anyway, I thought I would email Fluke to see if there is a default access code to reset the unit. I expected the reply to say something along the lines of 'you have to return it and we'll reset it for a charge of £xxxx' but no. I had a nice email with a link to the latest version of the firmware and instructions on how to flash the unit. A couple of minutes later the 6500-2 is running the latest firmware and fully unlocked. Can't fault the service.

Had similar last year with Seaward. I bought another SuperNova and it was locked. After an email to Seaward I got a phone call from their support department with an overide access code that reset the unit. Again, excelent service (and a far better PAT tester too!)
