Has anyone tried to fit Varilight in to MK grids and plates?

I need to change a one way grid switch to a dimmer at home, being a tight sod I dont want to pay 20+ quid for an MK one for a light that rarely gets used, Varilight grid dimmer is just over a fiver!

Still works out cheaper for me to change the whole lot to varilight.

I like the click grid stuff, screws onto the plate rather than a grid.u need a dimmer module and dimmer mounting kit tho.mk grid stuff is about the only stuff they make that is not complete cack these days.

from memory isnt crabtree and mk the same in grids... maybe crabtree do a cheaper option but may be wrong here but i do know a sister company fits all MK grids.

Deffo not crabtree though, they need to be screwed to the grid.

Never come across anything that fits MK Grid other than MK.

I am going off MK big time their cable entry on the bottom terminals is pathetic, such a stupid little strip you have to do, any showing conductor catches on the grid. I dont mind going back to jobs I have installed as I know up front it is stripped properly.

Hager have some nice grid switches but I just cant get hold of them near me.

So for the sake of it and its at home, I will just change it all for Varilight.
