Hi folks, not sure if this is on the correct forum or whether it should be on the general forum but here goes anyway! I use hager accessories & consumer units. I like them a lot & they're a reasonable price compared to mk & Schneider! What are your thoughts on accessories as in the best for quality? I can never really decide, I find hager to be very similar to mk but a lot of people say hager is over priced. Any thoughts please. Cheers D

Have used Click Scolmore now for a couple of years and always found them good. They do an endless mini grid range which suits me for all the kitchens I do.

Only downside for me is they don't do a round edge brushed steel stuff, which a lot of people tend to ask for

I really like the Hager accessories but have not used them a lot due to availability. The Schneider sockets and switches are just rebranded stuff are they not ? Just looks like run of the mill budget stuff to me.

The Schneider sockets and switches are just rebranded stuff

I thought they were the original and they were rebranded GET ultimate or wilts plus? I tend to use any of those or MK. Like click gear (best grid design by far) but local wholesalers do not stock them

I'm not really sure, but I have used Schneider accessories lately and they have seemed very cheap compared to the usual high quality I expect from the brand.

We've recently changed from using mostly Crabtree to Acel flatplate (GET flatplate!) from Electric Centre. 2nd fixed about a dozen houses since and haven't had a problem (bar one faulty socket). Very happy with quality of the stuff.

I get most of my material from cef or Edmundson both of who stock hager & Get ultimate but the Get us so much more expensive plus I had a box of 10 spurs with faulty switches! I know a contractor that uses the Get accessories (Schneider) & he swears by it! I'm not to sure in the other hand! I had a look at the click stuff, not something I've heard of looks decent though! Think I may stick to the hager for now! Although where I'm moving to they don't seem to stock it foursome reason so may have to revert back to good old faithful MK
Thanks for the comments

For me it's gotta be the Schneider (old merlin gerin) consumer units specifically the isobar 4c range.
The slider mechanism is a complete bonus on these and the accessories and additions e.g extra spacer boxes at top and bottom for meter tails and surge protection is a dream,
Can't say i have enough experience of these types for in domestic use as I am more industrial and commercial but for me the best quality is certainly this range

Alternatively you can't beat the old Wylex re wirable (3036) fuse boards and if you can hold of an old drum or red a black T&E you don't even need RCDs and can get away with 1mm for everything.
( joke by the way before I get shot down)
I prefer 3871 MEM boards

Not so keen on MEM DB's in particular RCBO's which have to be tested at the final point of the circuit. Even MEM admitted its a flaw in their RCBO range and sent me a PDF guide on how to frig their RCBOs to allow you to test at the DB.
