Octopus

I've had a particularly busy and tough week - not bad, as all the jobs pretty much went to plan.

The icing on the cake has been 2 customers who have rung to say how pleased they are with my work.

Yes, I'm blowing my own trumpet, but at times like these when its tough out there its really good to receive such calls.

:thinking2:

Makes you and your work feel appreciated which right enough is rare nowadays, instead we get the customer that pays up relutantly because he wanted it done as cheap as poss and you didn't need to do all them safety earthy bits. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

No your not blowing your own trumpet, your satisfied customers are blowing the trumpet(s), your merely relating to us your feelings, having received their appreciation...

Can't get any better can it .... Getting paid, and then Genuinely thanked!!

We Sub Contract to Homeserve and when we get a recommendation or commendation of a customer, Homeserve reward us with a £20 pound voucher :)

Yes it's a good feeling, nice one M. Got a really satisfying thank you letter, along with cheque, from a very satisfied customer last week. Nice when it happens.

Yeh not many people go out there way to say when u do a good job, but most soon jump up and moan if they aint happy, always cheers me up when they ring to say thanks, just that one phone call can make your day

good on ya mate! well deserved i'm sure!

we had one last week, plenty of remedial to take care of previous 'sparky's' work. cheque for £125 more than invoice amount, and invites to call in for a brew when we're nearby again!

Nice one, good to be busy and good to be appreciated, shows you are doing the job right, well done.

Keep up the good work.
(I must admit I am not sure I understand this fiction of jobs going according to plan:confused5:!)

nice one,its always good to get praise from a customer, weve all done jobs when we think i done a cracking job there and no one notices,so to get praise is a a big bonus..i think you can only top that by getting praise by a fellow spark on a job.and that doesnt happen much because were all the best sparky in the world..

I quoted one last week, told me i was to cheep and to re quote him with a better price in line with others , i **** you not i was gobsmacked.

Some people assume that if the quote is cheaper than they expect, then you must be cutting corners or using cheap materials. I know that I have mentioned this before, but my wife's late Auntie always used to go with the most expensive quote, as they "must be the best".
