Was wandering round local hardware shop while Mrs Robo was getting some keys cut and had a look at the electrical section. Looked at the helpful labeling like 2.5mm² T&E "for use on ring mains" etc., when I saw some red & black singles marked "not for mains voltage" had a look at the side of the reels, it was 6491X, looks like I've been using the wrong cable for the last 35 years :D

Probably meaning that because we are not supposed to be installing red and black anymore , he can only sell it for other uses rather than its former use , we can re connect red and black but not install it ,,

Correction I suppose you could use the black as a phase if you needed it ,,,

Sounds like just the job for DIY Dave, or anybody else that wants to disguise the fact of installing a new circuit!! lol!!

Once UKIP get in we'll be going back to Red White and Blue.

We were just on the transition to red, yellow and blue when I started my apprenticeship.

That's interesting, I've only known RYB (70's apprentice) what did they use before?

Red White and Blue were the phase colours before the white was changed to yellow. Can't for the life of me remember the reason for the change, but i'm sure someone here will know!! lol!!
