head torch query

Hi all,

I am a fisherman with a 4.8v head torch which uses a 2.4w bulb, a small pack on the back of my head holds 4 AA 1.2v batteries.

Could I just change these batteries to 4 AA 1.5V batteries making it 6v,then use a bigger 5W 6v bulb,or will I blow something up!

Or can I just put in a 6v 5W bulb,will it work with 1.2v nimh

Should be okay using a 6V bulb with existing batteries. A Few extra volts shouldn't hurt the wiring.
