HEAT TRACE - What should be used as means of disconnect?

Currently overseas and inside a small pumphouse heat trace is required.
Wondering if I need double pole RCD protection for it?

Clarity , the heat trace cable does not leave the small building but wondering of RCD protection is still required.

I hate installing heat trace,it looks ugly & can be difficult to install.

why would RCD protection be required, unless it's in a bathroom or similar special location?

All the trace heating supply circuits I’ve came across in existing buildings have not had RCD protection.

We use the BS on 220/400 and the NEC on 120/208.
This is a BS install.
