Not done one yet but was wondering about filling in paperwork for heating installs.

Cables to pumps, valves, stats etc. Would each have its own readings recored or such??

Hows everyone else doing them ?

Cheers All

Wouldnt each of the heting gear (pump, valve, stat) etc have to be removed and then tested?

how can we confirm IR and R1+R2 of each cable?

We just R1R2 to the isolator, insulation test the whole lot.... L-e/n-e...as long as you dont go L-n you are not going to fry anything, Zs to the isolator.....always have done....NIC inspector has never picked it up so I guess they are satisfied with that.
Might be wrong though...maybe we should be testing all the wiring.Even so you would only record the highest R1R2 and Zs as all the controls are part of the same circuit.

I only test upto the isolator too. Many moons ago heating installs were wired on a plug top into an unswitched socket, I bet they didn't test them then.;)

Very much agree with all that..
Test up to the FCU and certify that.

I have my C&G heating controls qualification, but i dont know enough about motorised valves, thermostats, boilers, etc etc to be carrying out full tests on them.. I can fit them, and i can fault find to tell if theyre working or not.. but after that its back to manufacturer or specialist guys.. !
