Are these connectors suitable for use with flex or just solid cores?

Not fine flex or tri rate, conduit singles fine and old stranded T+E and SWA small stuff Wago far better

Officially they only do up to seven strands. I've got flex in and hung off it, but it can be tricky to work it in. Have considered tinning the end of flex with solder to make a 'solid core', anyone think of any reason why not?
