im installing power to a large cabin in someones garden, they need lights and ring. do i take 2 seperate feeds from the house cu or is there a way of splitting 1 feed almost like a second cu. ( i know i cant use a second cu but wondered how to split for 2 circuits.

Welcome to the forum, hope you find and give lots of useful advice.

For your power circuit the easiest way to manage the circuit split is to protect the ring (or radial?) suitably from the house and then use an FCU to split off the lights. However if there is a problem with the cabin then you would need to return o the house to reset (possibly in the dark).
You will need to do all your calculations to design the circuit in accordance with the 17th Edition AMD1 and with the appropriate protections and suitable cable sizes to account for volt drop and proposed demand.
Make sure you do these calculations before you start installing. It is also necessary to assess the current supply and earthing arrangements to ensure that they are suitable for a new circuit.

You could also have a separate small CU in the garage so long as the supply cable is appropriately protected. To run two cables for the supply is possible but probably not worth the extra labour.

If you are unsure about the calculations, design, current supply or loading then you should get assistance before attempting this work.
