Hello to Everyone - Ist Post

Hi,
I'm ngc1967 and just signed up to this forum.
I am not a qualified electrician and have very little experience on wiring or electricity apart from V=IR and P=VI.
I want to have some work done in my kitchen of which I will be getting a qualified electrician to carry out, but I would like to understand a bit of why and what ever work will be needed.

Howdy mate. you will have to decide what you want to do, lights, plugs whatever, then when you call your sparky explain what you want done, he will then suggest the preferred method of installation whether it be chased in the wall or surface mounts. if the sparky is worth he,s value he will know what size wire and fittings etc you will need, here in RSA we need to give a c.o.c certificate of compliance in accordance with the south african bureau of standards code 10142 for the wiring of premises for any new part to the existing installation to certify that the installation was done up to standard
