Hi, my name is Ivor and i was wondering if anybody can help me!
I am an electrician working in the Shetland Islands and I am wiring up a new house.
I was wondering if there is a maximum height that the consumer unit can be positioned? Is there any regulations governing this height?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Without looking at the regs,I bet it says that it should be positioned without obscuring operation,to be in a place deemed suitable regarding any detrimental and external influences therefore in sufficient housing at a hight discernable by a competent persons!

Not any help in the slightest but really i wouldn't worry too much!

Thanks Piggyitm, I thought it was 1.2 metres max height but I have already cut the hole for the wires goin to the consumer unit a bit higher as I thought it was better out of the way
