Hi all,

Just after some advice please as to regards to which qualifications I should be gaining to become an electrician.

I have contacted a company who I shall not name and they have a domestic electricians course which gains you the following:

C&G 2382 17th Edition
C&G 2377 (PAT)
EAL Part 1

the price is £2050 which includes all books and workshop days.

But I have found it quite confusing as to what I actually need as I would have thought that I would probably need to take the City & Guilds 2392 (The fundamentals of inspection and testing).

My plan is to work on basic things like a simple wiring of a new light to re-wiring a complete house.

I do also want to do PAT testing (which is included).

Eventually I would like to test and inspect other peoples work - so what would I need for this too?

The course seems enough for what I want to achieve but I was concerned that the C&G 2392 was not included and do i need this.

All help would be much appreciated.

Chris

the 2392 is a step to course and you wouldnt be able to test anyone elses work.
the course is designed so that you can test work that you have done.
if you want to test more you need 2391;)
