State TWO faults which may be found for EACH of the following.a) Luminaries
b) Flexible cable/cords
c) Wiring

Can any one help me with this one?

you don't need a degree to work these out. common sense sometimes works. think about it.

Gary you learn nothing being told the answer. Think you do know. If not look up in your text book you use on your course. Better to have a thought than none at all.

haha! I remember these questions, You can use the same answer for all 3, Simplicity... Loose connections, too much bare conductor, No sleeving, Reverse polarity. They aren't looking for technical answers.. Just a fault..

Disconnect both ends and use a low resistance ohmmeter and nulled long lead to check the resistance of the cable, if the value is close to that expected by calculation for that csa and length then it is OK.
Does not cover all the detail you may need, but try and expand on this.

State TWO faults which may be found for EACH of the following.a) Luminaries

I find most Luminaries talk bow locks, they are usually God fearing bible bashers who someone decided was a Luminary, in reality the majority are US Extreme Christian TV Evangelists..

However I suspect your talking about Luminairs, which in the UK we call LIGHT FITTINGS and the two most common faults with them are...

Well you need to tell us what type of light fitting it is because faults will vary with the type of fitting it is.

there are 3 possible states for a liminaire.

1. it works...... no action required.

2. it doesn't work......... replace it.

3. it works sometimes........ hit it with a hammer.
