So I got my battery meter for my golf cart through Amazon today. I see two flat tabs where I think will need to connect directly to the battery. My question is, is there a purpose for the two round nuts above them? It looks like they would serve a purpose but not sure what to make if it. TIA

The nuts hold the bar that clamps the meter into a panel hole and have nothing to do with the connections to the battery
Just like the fixing arrangements for Lucas car instruments back in the day.
The round hole is for a back light to illuminate the meter.

Unscrew the nuts, pull the bracket off, drop the meter through the hole, put it back on to hold the meter in.
