Renter bought a new dryer because the old one wasn't heating. New dryer did the same. Returned it. I checked the plug, 124ish at the ground and hots, 240ish between the hots. Next dryer same problems, dried the first load but not the second. Checked outlet, red wire didn't read properly. Replaced the outlet. Tested fine but then didn't. 10-3 wire runs to a 30 amp breaker sub panel which runs to the breaker box. Lines read correctly out of the sub panel. Is it possible the line from the sub panel to the outlet is somehow bad? What am I missing? I am an amateur so speak slowly.

My friend when the dryer is replaced then you have to install a 4 wire cable. 2 hots 1 neutral and 1 ground.
