Dear all

I've come across this symbol on (most likely) korean electrical drawings, a wire(?) around other wires, sometimes connected to terminal, sometimes connected to ground.

Does anyone know what is this about?
please don't make assumptions, thank you

A 4 core cable with the shield/braid earthed at both ends, I assume

asabove ^^^. also looks to be an earthed metallic sheath.

I suspect it is an earthed screen encompassing a cable. This maybe functional in some cases and protective in others.

Thank you all for your answers. It's probably this earth shield as you folks say.

FYI the drawing comes from a console with various electronics, for ship navigation. This symbol can be seen in almost all of the 30 pages.

It is purely and simply signifying that it is a multicore screened cable. The type of cable will need to be investigated as to the purpose it is being used for.
