Basically the new fan has

Please can you tell me which cable goes in which. I have attached the pic of the switch the existing fan and the wiring diagram

I understand the neutral but unsure which is the L1 or L2

Your help would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance

usually, L1 is perm L, and L2 is switched L. try them. if they wrong way round it just won't work, so then swap them over.

It looks like you have a 2 speed fan rather than a timer fan according to the wiring diagram you posted? It would not be a good idea to make L1 and L2 live at the same time if this is the case.

What is the model number of your new fan?

Hello

Thanks for the replies

Here are a few more images of the switch and the wiring diagram

Please can some one tell me which cables need to go in the l1 and l2 thanks

Daz... can you forward details of the make and model of the new fan. This is because your wiring diagram suggests that you have a 2 speed fan (min and max) but it would be more normal to have a permanent live and a switched live so that the fan over runs.

Ceritainly is a 2 speed model you need the Turbo-E T model for overrun timer version. This one can only be wired so it is either on all the time, or only on when the light is on.

Hi

I'm fine with it just coming on. When the light comes on and goes off when the light goes off.

Just don't know which cable goes where

Thanks

In that case the green and yellow with brown tape (which is switched live for the old fan) goes to L2 for high speed, the brown goes in a separate connector block not connected to the fan to insulate it. Blue to N
