have just finished the 2330 lvl3 and entering 4th month of apprenticeship with reputable local company (about 20 lads of varying experience), so things are pretty sweet but amazed at how little I know bout a subject iv been learning at college for last 2 years:eek: so well chuffed to have found this site.
have found some of the problems posted here fascinating (if over me head) so will follow regularly
would like to give support to newcomers like me. Things have got good recently but that was after 12 mnths of letters phone calls emails timewasting cowboys and a couple of false starts with legitimate companies, so its worth hanging in there.

Welcome newsparky.
I have one week left of 2330. Done 3 years and glad it's over. Been fairly easy so far (one exam left) but ultimately, you get out what you put in.
Micksow - 2330 is the equivalent of 2360 so I doubt you will need it;)

so what will i need to get my ""cards"" working as a mate now done 3 yrs of apprenticeship about 15 yrs ago and been back into it about a year now

any help would be appreciated

been told to do C&G 2356 nvq lvl3..or 2391 inspection and testing ...both cost money do i really need this or can i just trade or work for someone as an electrician without this

have found 2330 straightfoward enough but dont like c&g gola exam. my test went ok with only 1 calc but my mate 5 or 6 calcs in his set could do with advice on getting carded

With regards to 'cards' as long as you complete a course like level 2 & 3 2330 (formerly 2360) then if you want to be 'recognised' as an electrician by the JIB you will also need to sit NVQ L3 which is generally an additional year. Some colleges run the NVQ 3 in conjunction with 2330 in the 2nd year.
