Hi everyone,I was an apprentice electrician in the 1960s and although I have worked mainly in the telly repair business I also kept on doing wiring jobs up until 2005, that is when I discovered Part P had come into force! The last job I did was adding ring sockets,an attic light and shed supply but it was all passed without any problem.I have been self employed since 1994 in the telly and domestic appliance repair business but as so much stuff is becoming throw away or unrepairable I am going to concentrate on electrical work.I am planning on doing the NAPIT theory and practical trade tests in a couple of months or so to be registered part P.I have no shortage of customers wanting eletrical work done but am a bit stuck until I have part P.Hope this isn,t too long and I will have various questions to ask later.Regards,Sparkdog.

welcome

nothing to stop you dong the work now, just use your LABC until you join a competent persons scheme

depending how much work you intend to do, you could carry on indefintely without ever joining a scheme, it is not a requirement, it just works out cheaper in the long run for doing notifiable work

good luck;)

Thanks for the repiles.Yes I can use LABC at least for the bigger jobs.I have most of a farmhouse and farm to rewire at the moment.Regards,Sparkdog.
