Hi
Just signed up to see if anyone can point me in the right direction with air source heat pump for my above ground pool. It stopped working a few weeks ago and I thought the display unit had gone. However I've tried to replace it but that doesn't power up either. I've had the top off it and worked out that something still works because if manually pressed down the HVAC contactor (not sure if I should be doing this) it fires up. I was wondering if something else had failed and was preventing the power getting to the display unit. If it helps, it's an obsolete competition heat pump.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris and Welcome to the Forum !
Have you got the installation booklet for the heat pump? Or can you tell us more about make model and posting a pic would be helpful.
With the display dead, likely the controller won't fire up the contactor etc. And you are right, not a good idea to do that manually as it will have safety cutouts ... With the unit fully disconnected from power, perhaps have a look on the controller board for any fuses?

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming the controller board is the circuit board inside the display panel? If so I can't see any fuses in there. Here are some pics of it.

Is the system short of refrigerant?
Well a low refrigerant charge would cause the system not to work, without knowledge of the system and it's control circuitry, it would be difficult to say, My response was a reaction to a question, and that's all.
