High reading on a R1 + R2 test on a ring main

Hi I've done a ring main R1 and R2 test all my readings are around 0.15 ohms apart from one which is much higher at 0.83 it is not on a spur it is part of the ring any ideas or is this ok thanks

Are you taking the reading at the terminals inside the socket or through a plug-in jobbie?

I'm using a Megger 1553 with the plug lead

Try taking the reading inside the socket at the terminals before doing anything else. The last time I had this it was a duff socket. Otherwise, are you sure it is on the ring?

Cheers mate I give that a try, yeah it's defiantly on the ring as it's on a rewire I did only has 2 rings mains for power up and down

Where your r1, r2 & rn readings consistent?

Yeah all around 0.15 ohms

Then your R1 + R2 reading should be around 0.07 - 0.08 ohms so IMO there is something amiss with your testing methods. Was the figure of 8 connected correctly?

Was your r2 the same as the others?
