Hi all im looking for some advice on installing a hot tub, the supplier specifies a 16 amp type c mcb, a 20 amp rotary switch and an ip rated 13 amp socket with rcd protection, the run of swa cable from the consumer unit to the rotary switch is 30m, I will then run an swa from the rotary switch to the ip rated 13amp socket for the hot tub to be plugged in direct, what im needing advice on is the voltage drop, the cable will be clipped direct to a wall, 30m run, ive worked it out that there will be a voltage drop of 10.5v which works out at a vd of 4.6%, do yiu agree that a 2.5mm swa cable will be more tham man enough to run the hot tub, cheers.

it works out 2.208 on your calculations ,but 2.5 swa would go ,but how ever 4.00mm /20amp i would use .but I'm not doing the job .considering you are designing it its your call the end of the day , what is the loading of the hot tub kw .

Hi Ive worked out the voltage drop to be 7.41 volts, mV/a/m x Amp x Metre /1000 = 19 x 13a x 30meters /1000 = 7.41 vd
